Murcia, ležící na řece Segura je sedmým největším městem Španělska, ačkoliv tedy neoplývá především svou velikostí, tak má bezesporu, co nabídnout. Je „hlavním“ městem stejnojmenného regionu, které mu vévodí hlavně evropské zemědělství a cestovní ruch, který však není až tolik významný, jako v některých jiných částech Španělska. Tím lépe! Vyhnete se přeplněným plážím a najdete zde i kouzelná místa bez turistů…
Murcia lies on the river called Segura and it’s the seventh biggest city in Spain. So the main reason to visit this city isn’t because of the size but because of the other interesting things, which this city has so many! It is the main city of the same-named region. This region is very important because of European agriculture. Tourism is not that important here like in other places in Spain but maybe for the best! You can find here no crowded beaches or magic places as well.

Historické město bylo založeno Maury a tak některé staré části či památky mají svůj arabský původ. Nejsme ale přeci jen v exotice – stejně tak si zde zachovala určitý vliv křesťanská kultura a na některých architektonických stavbách v centru se velice živě podepsalo baroko a další architektonické styly.
The historic city was founded by Moorish so you can see some old parts or monuments of the city with an Arabic style. But you are not in an exotic city now because there was also an influence on the Christian culture. You can discover the baroque architecture or other common trends too.
Katedrála Santa María / Cathedral Santa María
Největší perlou starobylého centra je bezesporu tato katedrála. Původní maurská mešita byla postupně přestavována na tento skvost. Obsahuje tedy hlavně prvky gotiky, renesance, ale i baroka. Její 90 metrů vysoká věž ukrývá největší zvonici ve Španělsku. Okolo katedrály najdete krásně upravovanou zeleň v jižním duchu a malebná náměstíčka plná kaváren a restaurací, ze kterých si můžete vychutnávat nádheru celé této stavby několik hodin.
The most charming part of the city center is the cathedral without any doubt. Originally Moorish mosque has been rebuilt into this remarkable historical jewel. It consists of the gothic, renaissance, and baroque parts. There is 90 meters lofty tower with the biggest belfry in Spain. Near the cathedral, you can explore southern cute green plants and flowers, pretty squares full of cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy the view of this extraordinary building for a few hours.
Na hlavní obchodní třídě si můžete všimnout královského kasína, které působí luxusním dojmem. Za zmínku stojí i Plaza de Las Flores (Květinové náměstí) s biskupským palácem a radnicí.
On the main street full of shops, you can find the royal casino which looks very luxurious. I have to talk about the Plaza de Las Flores (Flower’s square) with the bishop’s palace and town hall because it’s very impressive too.
Nemůžeme vynechat místní divadlo nebo krásné úzké městské uličky, které vás pokaždé dovedou na nějaké jakoby ztracené náměstíčko či ke kouzelnému kostelu.
Don’t forget about the theatre building or beautiful tight streets. They can lead you to the small pretty square or to the magic church. You never know.
Rozhodně si také nenechte ujít místní tapas v některé z restaurací a vychutnejte si to pravé Španělsko i na talíři.
